1. Case Summary: Zade Law represented a driver who was hit while lawfully crossing an intersection. The other driver’s insurer disputed fault. It said the collision was a minor “glancing” impact that couldn’t have caused serious injury, and it made a low early offer. We turned it down, built the case through discovery and depositions, and got a settlement of $165,000.00 for our client.
2. Facts of the Case: In December 2023, our client was stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, he waited a few seconds and then drove into the intersection. As he was nearly across, a turning vehicle that had been sitting in the intersection hit the rear driver’s side of his car. His car had to be towed from the scene. The other driver was taking coworkers back to the office after lunch.
The defense argued that their driver had control of the intersection and that our client caused the crash. The other driver’s own testimony, the surveillance video and the physical evidence told a different story.
3. Treatment: Our client started having low back pain the day after the crash. He began with chiropractic care and diagnostic imaging. When his symptoms continued, he went on to spinal injections and eventually had lumbar spine surgery.
4. Legal Strategy: We looked closely at the evidence, including the surveillance video, the point of impact on each car and the other driver’s sworn testimony. We used what we found to answer the defense’s version of events. We also investigated whether anyone else shared responsibility for the crash, and we held out for a fair result rather than accepting an early low offer.
